Premium is the standard service for splits and boxed/window units. It's the full deep clean — barrel pull, coil chemical wash, drain flush, sanitise. If a unit was professionally cleaned in the last 12 months and still presents clean when we open it up, we'll tell you and skip it — no charge for the units that genuinely don't need it.

What the price actually buys you

"Aircon cleaning" means different things to different operators. Here's exactly what's included on each of our service tiers, so you can compare apples to apples when you're getting quotes.

Splits Premium clean — $150 first unit / $99 each after

The full deep clean. We pull the front cover off, remove the filters, then pull the fan barrel (the spinning roller that pushes air out — the part that grows the most mould). The barrel goes outside and gets washed properly, not wiped. The indoor coil gets a chemical wash with a biocide solution that breaks down biofilm. The drain pan and drain line get flushed so condensation actually runs out, not back into your ceiling or wall. Every internal surface gets sanitised. We refit the lot, run the unit through cool and heat modes, and check it's actually cooling before we leave. You get before/after photos by SMS.

Ducted Premium single-storey — $249

Whole-home ducted clean for any single-storey house — doesn't matter if you have 6 ceiling vents or 14. Return-air filter pulled, cleaned or replaced. Indoor coil (sitting in your roof cavity) gets the full chemical wash. Drain pan and line flushed end-to-end so you don't end up with a brown stain on your bedroom ceiling. Sanitisation is run through the duct runs to kill spores along the path the air actually travels. Every ceiling outlet is wiped down and reinstalled. Performance check at the central return — actual temperature drop measured, not guessed.

Ducted Ultra double-storey — $349

Everything in Premium, plus the upstairs work. Double-storey homes in places like Eatons Hill, Albany Creek and Bridgeman Downs usually have longer flex-duct runs and the indoor unit lives in a roof cavity that's harder to access. We bring extra ladder gear and additional sanitisation product to cover the larger duct volume. Same fixed price regardless of how big the house is — we're not the kind of operator that knocks on the door and decides to charge more once we see the layout.

Original data from real North Brisbane jobs

These are real numbers from our own booking system and our own customer follow-up surveys. We share them because most "aircon cleaning cost" articles online are written by people who've never actually cleaned an aircon — and the numbers below tell you more about what your job will actually look like than any generic quote calculator.

  • Average household setup: in our last 380 North Brisbane jobs, the average home had 2.3 split systems and 0.8 ducted systems. About 1 in 3 homes had both types.
  • 78% of first-time ducted cleans show visible biofilm on the indoor coil — black/grey gunk you can see with the access panel off. If your ducted system has never been professionally cleaned, the chance you have build-up is very high.
  • Customer-reported power bill savings: in our 90-day follow-up survey (n=140), the average household saved $52 per quarter on power bills after a Premium clean. The dirtier the unit at the start, the bigger the saving.
  • Most common reason to book: 47% of jobs are triggered by a musty smell when the AC kicks on. The next biggest reason at 22% is "just bought the house, unit looks old and we don't know when it was last cleaned."
  • Worst case we've cleaned in Northside Brisbane: a 2014 ducted system in Strathpine that had never been serviced — 9 years of build-up on the indoor coil. The household reported the system was cooling 4 degrees better the next day.

What we don't charge for

  • $0 call-out fee
  • $0 for the upfront quote
  • $0 if we get there and tell you a unit doesn't actually need cleaning yet
  • $0 card-payment surcharge

What changes the price (and what doesn't)

Only three things move the number on your quote. Everything else — how old the unit is, what brand it is, how dirty it looks — does not change the price.

1. How many indoor units you have

Split-system pricing is tiered. First unit is $150, each one after that is $99. So a four-bedroom home with one split in each bedroom plus one in the living room (5 splits) lands at $546 total. Built-in multi-unit discount — we don't charge a full call-out for each one.

2. Whether you have ducted, splits, or both

Ducted is a separate flat-rate clean ($249 single-storey / $349 double-storey) — not added per vent. If you have a ducted system AND a few splits in the granny flat or upstairs bedrooms, you pay the ducted flat plus the per-split tier pricing. The quote tool calculates the combined total automatically.

3. Single-storey vs double-storey (ducted only)

For ducted only: $249 single-storey vs $349 double-storey. Splits don't change price by storey because we're working at the head unit, not the duct runs.

What does NOT change the price

How dirty the unit is. How old it is. What brand. Whether it's mounted high or low. The price is fixed before we start — even if the unit is the worst we've ever seen, the number on your quote is the number on your invoice.

What's actually in a $70–$99 "aircon clean special"?

You'll see ultra-cheap aircon clean specials advertised around Brisbane every summer — sometimes as low as $70 or $99 per unit. Here's what we know about that pricing from our own cost structure and from cleaning up after those jobs.

At that price point, the labour, chemicals, sanitiser, drop sheets and disposal costs simply don't add up to a deep clean. So something has to give. The usual corners cut:

  • The fan barrel doesn't come out. The barrel is the spinning roller that grows the most mould. Pulling it out, washing it properly and refitting it adds real time — the bit that gets skipped most often on cheap jobs. Without that, the unit still smells musty a week later.
  • The drain line doesn't get flushed. The drain line is the most common cause of musty smells and ceiling stains in Brisbane. Flushing it properly with a biocide takes time and product. Cheap jobs skip it and you're back at square one in 3 months.
  • No before/after photos. Without photos you've got no way to see what was actually cleaned. Operators that genuinely deep-clean want to show you what came out of the unit.
  • It's a sales hook. The cheap headline price gets the booking, then the upsell happens on the day — "your coil is really bad, that'll be another $200." We've cleaned plenty of units where the customer paid the cheap price, got the upsell, and the unit was still dirty inside.

We're not saying every cheap special is bad. But ask the operator three questions: Do you pull the fan barrel? Do you flush the drain line? Will I get before/after photos? If the answer to any of those is no, you're paying for a face-wipe, not a clean.

Frequently asked questions about aircon cleaning cost in Brisbane

The same 10 questions come up week after week. Here are the straight answers — the same ones Isabella gives over the phone.

How much does it cost to clean a split system in Brisbane?

A single split system clean starts at $150 on our Premium tier — that's the full deep clean (barrel pull, coil chemical wash, drain flush, sanitise). Each additional split on the same job is $99. So two splits is $249, three splits $348, four splits $447. Boxed and window units are priced the same as splits.

How much does ducted aircon cleaning cost in Brisbane?

Whole-home ducted cleaning starts at $249 for a single-storey home and $349 for double-storey. That covers the return-air filter, indoor coil deep clean, drain line flush, and sanitisation throughout the duct runs. A lighter ducted Maintenance tier (for systems already cleaned in the last 12 months) is $149.

Is there a call-out fee?

No call-out fee, no booking fee, no fuel surcharge. The price we quote is the price you pay. If the job is bigger than expected on the day, we tell you before we touch anything — never a surprise on the invoice.

Do I pay before or after the clean?

After. That's the Chilled Out Promise — you only pay once the work is done, the unit is back together, and you've seen the before/after photos. If it's not right, we make it right before any money changes hands.

What if a unit doesn't actually need cleaning?

We tell you. No charge for that unit. It's the most underrated thing we do — most operators clean whatever you tell them to, even if the unit's been cleaned last winter and looks spotless inside. We'll only invoice for units that genuinely needed the work.

Do you take card or cash?

Both. Tap, swipe, or cash on the day. We can also send an invoice via email/SMS if you want to pay by bank transfer. No extra fee for card payments.

What's included in a Premium split clean?

On every Premium split-system clean: full barrel/fan-roller pull-down, coil chemical wash, drain pan flush, anti-bacterial sanitise, full reassembly, and a quick performance check before we leave. Price is $150 for the first unit, $99 for each additional unit on the same job. That price covers everything — no add-ons hidden in the small print.

How is ducted pricing different from splits?

Ducted is priced per system, not per vent. $249 covers your whole single-storey home no matter how many ceiling outlets you have — could be 6, could be 14. Splits are priced per indoor head unit ($150 first, $99 each after that).

Do you charge extra for older units?

No. Older, dirtier, never-been-cleaned units take us a bit longer but the price is the same. The fixed quote you see online is what you pay, whether the unit is 2 years old or 12 years old.

Can you give me a fixed price before booking?

Yes. Use the quote tool on our site — tell us how many splits you have and whether you also have ducted. You'll get the exact fixed total for your address in under 60 seconds, before any booking commitment.
